Dental Practice waiting room-before and after

I was delighted to be involved in the re design of a dental practice waiting room in the last few weeks. I personally like the opportunity to have a little ‘time out’ in a waiting room- turn off my mobile for a few minutes and sit and read a magazine before I go into the dentist (strange perhaps, I don’t even mind being in the Dentist’s chair?!).

Waiting Room-BEFORE

Though this particular waiting room was a little bit tired with white walls, random loose furniture and a TV on the wall dominating the space.

Working with the Client,  Denis we decided to paint the chimney breast wall out in Farrow and Ball ‘Downpipe’ so the TV is fades away on a dark background. We replaced the wall lights with more contemporary fittings which were painted to match and throw the light up and down the wall. Denis had an idea for abstract elliptical shaped shelves and we designed these shelves to sit in either alcove and sprayed them a bright green colour to match a new piece of modern art . The shelves are kind of fun and interesting, almost remind me of a gum line!

New Charles Eames white moulded plastic chairs and branded roller blinds complete the look. I'm looking forward to my next check up!
